It is an extreme privilege to visit Jellyfish Lake given the fragile nature of this unique ecosystem. We therefore ask visitors to follow a few important rules:
Everyone should wear a life jacket. This may seem awkward at first, but the life jacket will completely eliminate your need to tread water to stay afloat.
Minimize all motion while in the mass of jellyfish. The bodies of these creatures are composed of about 97% water. Any rapid motion could potentially cut or puncture the creatures. Under no circumstances should these creatures be lifted out of the water or thrown.
Avoid wearing fins or free diving into the lake. Think of this unique opportunity as an exercise in gentleness and enjoy an experience that you'll not encounter anywhere in the world outside of Palau.
Please do not bring anything in to or take anything from the lake.
